Stephie has been teaching riding and training horses for over 25 years.She has been competing in 3 day events and combined training events for almost that long. She has trained many green and "unbroke" horses, including several from green to 3 and 4 Star level.
Stephie regularly competes at the advanced level and rode in 4 Star events at Burghley CCI(England) and Rolex Kentucky CCI. She also competed at North Georgia CIC, Thirelston Castle CIC(Scotland) Bromont CCI(Canada), Queretaro CCI(Mexico), Essex CCI, Radnor CCI, and Fair Hill CCI 3 Stars. She won divisions of Advanced at Fair Hill, Morven Park, and Southern Pines. She was short listed for the United States Team for the 1998 World Championships and trained in England. She has participated in several USET training sessions.
Stephie was a working student and employee of Bruce Davidson for over four years. She also trained with Captain Mark Phillips, Jack LeGoff, Rick Sullivan, Lauren Stevens, Kathy Connolly, Sandy Osborne, and Arlene Full. She attended clinics with Lucinda Green, Joey Darby, Ann Kursinsky, Jane Savoy, Sandy Pflueger, Eric Horgan, and Jimmy Wofford.
Stephie earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree Magna Cum Laude from Boston College.
Lessons are given in eventing, dressage and show jumping for novice to advanced levels. Students of all ages are welcome. Instruction is in various formats, individual, semi private, and clinics. On occasion, Stephie invites an outstanding competitor to visit the farm and give 2 or 3 day clinics. Stephie regularly travels to area farms to give lessons or clinics, and arrangements can be made for participation in this instruction. She also conducts clinics a few times a year at RedBud Farm operated by Betsy Ball in Starkville, MS. Farm operators desiring to arrange for visits by Stephie or riders who would like to inquire about current locations, may contact us by phone or email.

Stephie coached Area 1 Young riders Teams for 2 years at North American Young Riders Championships.
Pony Club Activities
Stephie has been very active in Pony Club for close to 30 years and has taught many clinics. She often hosts weekend or vacation period clinics for Pony Clubs at Chase Farm.
Horses may be boarded at the farm for training intervals. Stephie has trained many young horses and brought several to the advanced level. She is known for her understanding and handling of horses and is adept at solving problems. She has worked with many horses that seemed intransigent but have become wonderfully adaptable under her tutelage. Owners will receive a frank evaluation and can discuss a training period and regimen, either a short tune-up or a longer program.
